zeuren Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Hi everybody My front passenger window got stuck down and I had to take out the old mechanism in order to raise the window and keep it wedged up temporarilly. In the process of doing this I had to take out the window seal. When I put it back I kinked it and its now almost useless. They're about Quote
gregers Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 dont understand why you had to touch the seal,i take it either 1 of the window clamps came adrift or youve suffered the dreaded over run with the cable system hence why the window got stuck in the down position?.best bet is to try your local scrappy iirc they just push in??? sparky Paul Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 As gregers says, they just push on. The problems with old ones is that the aluminium core corrodes over time, and crumples when you remove it. New ones are much stronger and will take a bit more abuse. If looking for secondhand ones, check that they are nice and rigid, with no evidence of the bumps on the surface caused by the corroding aluminium. Quote
